Welcome to Wee Care Daycare

Serving Children at Risk

Our program speaks directly to these children who are set to become another statistic. Our entire program is currently Title XX. We currently have the capacity to serve 50 children in our Dayton facility; however, we have an opportunity to multiply our capacity by a factor of 5 by moving locations.

Facility Expansion

Holy Temple Church owns another facility that has double the square footage available for daycare. That location is 131 Richmond Ave, Richmond, Indiana. By doubling our square footage from 3,000 to 6,000, we will be able to increase our 1st shift capacity to 60 children.

In addition to this, our facility has an opportunity to add a second shift, 2 pm – 10 pm, for caretakers who need these working hours. That would add an additional 60 spots available. Through these simple moves, we could increase our total capacity from 25 seats to 120 seats throughout the week.

Wee Care Daycare is dedicated to providing quality childcare through the development of your child’s spiritual, physical, social and cognitive growth through well-planned and varied programs and activities. This being our focus, we strive to provide an environment, which includes a diverse curriculum. We have created an atmosphere in which all children of different races, colors, religions, sexes, and national origin are respected.

We encourage children to participate in the activities and programs that are available while experiencing opportunities for growth in their awareness of self-worth, improved social skills, and enriched education. The children are the most important part of our program. We believe that children learn by experiencing the world around them through a “hands-on” approach. We encourage them to do things for themselves which will increase their independence.

Our Vision

Our vision is to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can grow, learn, and thrive. We are committed to fostering creativity, curiosity, and confidence through play-based learning and personalized care, building strong beginnings that support bright futures for every child and becoming a trusted daycare provider that families can rely on for quality care.

Our Goals

  1. To provide a safe, nurturing, and loving setting for your child to grow and develop.
  2. To create an atmosphere conducive to learning.
  3. To provide quality childcare services and varied educational experiences for each child.
  4. To provide an opportunity for parent interaction and enrichment.

Expanding Educational Access

Only 3.4% of Hoosier children have an early intervention plan.

Along with increasing capacity, our program would allow us to give a quality education to more individuals living in poverty. We would be able to provide quality education, mental health services, and an early intervention plan for parents.

Supporting Families and Community

This speaks back to our four main goals. First, we serve God as a faith-based registered childcare ministry. However, next, we are able to help the parent. While the child is the object of the support, the parent is the one who is overworked and unable to provide in many situations.

We hope to provide security to many parents by giving their child an evidence-based education that prepares them for kindergarten and the future. We help the parent by providing more time for education during the 2nd shift. This would otherwise be a time when children are left at home with other family members, nannies, or even siblings.

Program Quality and Long-Term Impact

Our daycare employees are qualified to educate children ages 0-3. Many of our workers have their CDAs, and we have put processes into place for all of them to go forward in their CDA training. We would use our curriculum, High Scope, which provides education, professional learning, and childcare assessment.

Finally, we believe that through this process of education, the community would benefit. There would be fewer stories like James that were statistically doomed to fail before they ever reached 1 year old. Our training would set these children on a track to be outstanding and successful students from kindergarten all the way through high school graduation. And it all starts with a quality early education program.

Funding and Capacity Options

Wee Care Daycare has two potential plans, depending on the amount of funds given by the SBA/Loan. Each of them differs in capacity alone, while the scope of education is the same.

We believe this plan will allow 0-3-year-old children living in poverty conditions to grow in their long-term education beyond our daycare.

Our plan contains 2 education steps and 2 capacity options. This plan is as follows:

Educational Plan

Staff Training

a. CDA Licensing
We believe that each of our teachers should have their CDA license completed as we increase our capacity. Of our 5 staff, we currently have 3 who have their CDA license. We are working toward all staff having their license. This would also be a responsibility of our new hires.
b. Teaching Strategies Creative Curricula
Regarding the CDA License, our Teacher Membership and Teacher Acceleration Program subscription we would purchase would include providing curriculum and educator training, relevant teaching strategies, educator support, and courses to complete CDA training. The courses also qualify for our annual CCDF and PTQ educational requirements and assist in preparing for the CDA exam and portfolio completion.
c. High Scope Professional Learning
Through our High Scope Curriculum, we would provide teachers options for professional learning in the form of in-person workshops, online training modules, and a community of professional childcare providers.
d. Other Training
In addition to these three primary areas, we would hold training events for our staff in the form of mental health training, trauma-informed training, and PRT (Pivotal Response Treatment) training. We would hold an event for each of these twice per year in the spring and fall.

Child Education

a. High Scope Curriculum
High Scope offers a range of resources to assist you in engaging young learners. These include an all-in-one kit for developing preschoolers' math skills, strategies for conflict resolution to help them solve problems, activities that enhance the home-school connection, and other needed tools for kindergarten readiness. We would use this curriculum in order to fulfill our Paths to Quality level 2 and 3 assessments.

We believe that the education of the child starts with the education of the staff. Therefore, our focus will be on having high-quality educators in all shifts of the day. Through these curricula and teaching support systems, we expect to see an overall increase in child assessments through our High Scope Curriculum.
